CTOD delivered a comprehensive two-day Strong Family course to 30 youths and their representatives, inclusive of five males from Battambang and Siem Reap Provinces.
The course covered the following topics:
1. Positive parenting
2. The effects of early marriage
3. Child online safety
Following the workshop, five participants applied the acquired knowledge to organize a two-day outreach campaign. The first event took place on August 12, 2023, in the post-Kanteur Village, Kanteur 2 Commune, Banan District, Battambang Province, engaging 100 participants.
Continuing their efforts, on August 13, 2023, these same five participants extended their advocacy for strong families to children and youths in Takom and Daun Teav villages, Peam Ek Commune, Ek Phnom District, Battambang Province, gathering another 100 participants.
The objectives for these outreach activities encompassed:
1. Promoting positive parenting practices to foster happier families.
2. Raising awareness about the impacts of young marriage and advocating for its reduction.
3. Educating young people and children on safe and responsible online usage to prevent online abuse, grooming, and harassment.
